  • Anyone around?

I am supposed to be starting an IVF cycle very soon and I'd love some cycle buddies and support on this board. Is anyone in the middle of a cycle or planning on starting one soon?

    Hi Levana

I just started BCP's for a Micro-IVF cycle. I will start more meds on Nov. 8th and monitoring will start on Nov. 29th. When are you starting?

      Hi ladies!!!

I just wanted to drop a note and say hi and best of luck to you! I'll be cheering you both on.

We'll be starting our last IUI cycle this month unless...well, why think crazy thoughts, right?

Because i had a deviated septum that was removed on a previous surgery and because i have had about 4 surgerys he wants to get a look at my uterus for scar tissue and adhesions. They are doing that in dallas the end of this moneht and my insurance is paying for it 100% woo hoo....

Ohh, I see. That is awesome that your insurance will pay for it!!! Let me know what meds you are going to be taking when you get your calendar, I'm interested to see if we'll be on any of the same ones. It's hard not to wish the time away waiting for November 29th!!!

                  Annette,
If you dont mind me asking what type of drugs are you using for the Micro IVF? I wasnt sure if it was just clomid or if they did something more aggressive.

I will be taking lupron, luveris, gonal-f, ovidrel....all the typical medications you would use for a traditional IVF cycle but just a little lower dose. I need the lower dose protocol anyway because I have PCOS and can hyperstimulate easily. The last round we did they retrieved 17 eggs and 9 of those were mature eggs.

Thanks thats awesome so by using the lower dose that is cutting the medication cost down significantly?

I believe it does cut down on the medication cost. We had gonal-f and ovidrel donated last time and I believe we are getting the same ones donated this time. But if we had to pay for all of our meds the cost would have been around $1600 total I think.

Thanks Hun best of Luck to you. Which SHER are you going to? I live in Cincinnati Oh and I believe the closest is in IL to me. Fortunatly I have a friend in another website that lives there and has offered me a place to stay if we decided to use the SHER clinic.

We are at the one in Sacramento. I have heard very good things about the one in IL, I think you would be in good hands if you went there.

                              Hi everyone!

Good to "see" you. Sounds like a few of you are getting ready to start but no one is cycling right now with me. I hope you'll stick around for me! I'm starting my first decapeptyl (lupron) shot tonight. I went to the clinic this morning to get everything started and I was supposed to have an u/s and bloodtest. The nurse found a vein first prick (not so easy with me) but my blood flowed soooooo slowly, it only filled the tube and didn't make it to the vial. In the end she decided that I could start without the bloodtest if the u/s looked okay (which it did - lining nice and thin.) So I'm not really looking forward to this whole ordeal again if each bloodtest is going to be so darn hard!

Anyway, excited and nervous and worried and a whole bunch of other emotions about being back here again...but here I am! Hope I survive in one piece. :-)
