Hi Patti!!

Thanks for asking, yes I am going to start Lupron tomorrow morning. I'm very excited but at the same time it's like the point of no return, like if anything goes wrong for any reason we just have to deal with it from this point forward. And it's almost a little surreal that we are about to do all of this again. I have my "lab" set up and ready to go!

Only 3 more days till your test!!! How are you feeling?

Annette, so exciting! Keep us posted on every stage. Are you doing the long lupron protocol? I was on decapeptyl (lupron) for two weeks before starting Gonal F.

I think I am on the same protocol that you are Levana, I start gonal-f on 11/22. Is that what they consider a long Lupron protocol?

I think so. Good luck! I hope everything goes smoothly for you. I found the Gonal F to be so easy this time compared to when I cycled 8 years ago. Now they have the Gonal F pen that is already pre-mixed and the best part is that it is subcutaneous instead of intramuscular.

Thanks! It's funny that you mention the gonal-f. I actually have both the pens and the powder that you mix, we were trying to save on costs so we ended up with two 75's of the powder. I am so glad that they are all tummy shots though!

When do you go in for your blood test?

No bloodtest yet -- we haven't even transferred. :-) Tomorrow is transfer (I'm nervous!) and I guess the beta will be two weeks after that...ummm...that would make it November 24th. However, I know myself and I know that I'll waste lots of money doing HPTs way too early. I definitely won't be waiting for the 24th.

Oh I was thinking that they gave you a date for the blood test since the transfer is tomorrow but maybe they will tell you that tomorrow. You are so brave to do hpt's! I am so done with hpt's, I'll just wait for my blood test. Interesting that they are doing your blood test two weeks out, mine was only 8 days after transfer last time because they did a 6-day transfer (14 days total after fertilization).

And Levana - I love the protocols that I am on where I can't test early because it would always be positive. There is the part of me that wants to test tomorrow, and Thursday just to see if it is the same, but oh, well. I only have one expired test in the house right now that I just can't seem to throw out.

Hey Annette.. I started my shots yesterday too I thought I was going to be a big baby but the Lupron is nothing..no side effects from the Dexamethasone as yet but I did wake up at 3am lasat night and then dosed in and out the rest of the night. How are things with you?

Hi Leslie!! I've been doing fine, the shots are a lot easier this time than last time. Last time I would hestitate forever before actually poking myself and it was stressful. This time I just take a deep breath and go for it. I did notice that there aren't many side effects from the meds, last time the only real side effects I had were some bloating and ovary pain, until I started the progesterone after the transfer and then there were all kinds of side effects. Do you go in for an E2 blood draw next Thursday (11/18)?

yes I am doing that herre in Al with my old Dr. just too much to take off mid week and try to drive to Dallas. On top of it all my dog is pregnant..lol which we knew we bred them but she is hormonal and only wants mama. so i had to change my reservations to a pet friendly hotel to take her to Dallas with me when I go the end of the month as she is due the week that I am coming back. My hubby thinks it's funny...lol anyways I do not start any other injections until the 22nd I will be on lupron & dex only until then. then I start Gonal F and then Menopur on the 25th.

I totally would have brought my dog with me too if she were pregnant!! At least you'll have company and she will probably calm any anxious feelings.

I am taking Luveris with the Gonal-F, I think it does the same thing as Menopur.
