Random - and hopefully fun question!

So...I've been in a dilemna all week because I get my first shot of Lupron tonight between 6 and 7 - and I'm supposed to be at a dinner that I'm helping to put on that starts at 6:30 (of course!). And I just watched Grey's Anatomy from last night when Meredith gets her first shot - in an elevator.

So here's the question...where, location wise, is the weirdest place you've ever had a shot?

We typically run out to the car in such situations and park far away from everyone else. Just wondering if anyone else has more interesting ideas/stories than us....

Weirdest place -- (child mentioned)

At my son's Tae Kwon Do studio -- in the changing room. Husband was out of town and a friend who was a nurse (who was going to be there) offered to administer the shot and save me the trip to a doc in the box.

I guess I'm boring...I can't think of having to do a shot in any other place than home. :-) I think we plan our schedule accordingly.

We ended up doing it...

in a tiny supply closet at church....at least we have a story to match the huge bruise (that one didn't go so well!).

We've tried to schedule accordingly in the past, but it isn't working so well anymore, so we're going with it. And Rita - that's a pretty good one!

What a great topic Patti! While my stories aren't as good as you guys, I totally feel you on the awkwardness. The very first shot I ever did, the pharmacy couldn't deliver my Lupron in time. So I had to leave work and run to a pharmacy that was 20 minutes away, grabbed the Lupron, got back to work and gave myself the shot in our conference room at work while looking at a printout of instructions because I hadn't had an injection class yet. And then had to put the Lupron in our breakroom fridge. Another time I had to do a shot at work but the conference room was occupied, so I had to do it in a stall in the bathroom.

no *weird* places for me either, but one IUI cycle they had to hurry and order ganirelix for me to start asap, and no pharmacy had any available in town, but Walgreens could have it the next day - the nurse was like, well, it's going to be later than we want it, but just do it ASAP when you pick it up - I wasn't going straight home so just did it right there in the car, in Walgreen's parking lot.

Love this question and seeing everyone's respones! We were pretty much able to plan things around the shots with all 3 IVF attempts, except for one. My husband coached football and they were in the playoffs so, of course, I couldn't miss it. At halftime, I left the bleachers, went behind the consession stand (no one was there and it faced the woods) and got the shot there. I can only imagine what people would've thought had they seen me!

Hi All! New to the boards and this post caught my eye. It reminded me of 'shooting up' my PIO shot in an airport. We could not find a private place anywhere....so we just kinda tried to hide in a corner. A few people gave us super funny looks and probably thought we were heroine addicts. Oh well. You get sort of used to getting the shot in strange places after a while.

Oh my gosh, I can't even imagine having to hide in a corner at the airport!! Then again maybe I can imagine it...gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes!
