  • The ticking clock

I am in my mid 30's and starting to wonder if ttc is far beyond my possibilities. I know that other women have accomplished it but I some how think that my situation and fate may be different. Does anyone know what the average age for premenopause is?

Ask your mother, and if you have any aunts or older sisters talk to them. Menopause and perimenopause appear to have a strong genetic component. Which is to say, that if your family has a streak of mid-life fertility, you likely won't have early menopause.

The normal pattern is that fertility declines during the thirties, drops a lot at 40, and falls off a cliff after 42. So however fertile you are now, you will be less fertile a few years from now.

      Awesome!

That is wonderful advice and something that I had never thought of. Thanks.
