I have done 2 IUIs and no luck. I REALLY DO NOT want to do IVF, I can't afford too! I just wish I knew what to do...planning my wedding isn't even fun..How many times a day do you take metformin?
I did two IUI's as well. I did 4 rounds of clomid all together but the timing was bad for IUI on two of the cycles because of holidays and such. Have you thought of applying for a Heart Scholarship for IVF through INCIID? I take 500 mg in the morning and 1500 mg in the evening, my glucose tends to spike during the middle of the night for some reason.
I was dx with PCOS at age 17 and have since that time always been at least peripherally aware that it might be very difficult to concieve children of my own. My husband and I have been married for 7 years and have not been pregnant thus far. We began not trying to not get pregnant two years ago and have since ventured into the world of Fertility Specialists.
Being hyperinsulinemic i have had trouble with weight. I have not found any combination of medications that helped thus far.
I have read some research recently about DCI as a suplement for women with PCOS, it helps to regulate insulin apparently. Has any one used this or know of anyone who has? Any sucess?
I have tried metformin in the past with no luck at all. Other than the inconvienient side effects I expierienced absolutley no changes. This DCI is something like Di-Chromium-Insitosol or something like that. I read an article on a research study they did where 50% of the women who participted were able to effectively loose weight and somehting like 30% of those women were able to get pregnant with out any folicle growing drugs. I was just curious if anyone else had heard or tried it out.
My husband and I are in the procees TTC and are going to our first patient education class on the 30th and will be starting our first round of treatments, more than likely with pills. I am nervous! and excited at the same time!
Good luck to you as you start your treatment!! Here is a link to where you can get the scholarship application http://www.inciid.org/faq.php?cat=infertility101&id=22 You will need to read the information on that page and then the application link is at the bottom of the page.
