Any testing? Any way of determining if your child has heavy metals and, if so, have you treated them for it? Just curious as it seems heavy metal toxicity is an emerging issue with developmental delays, etc.

Have any of you explored heavy metal toxicities?

That was one of the reasons
I started seeing Dr. Berger. But, that said, we have not done any heavy metals testing. He gave me a long explanation of why we should hold off but I would not be able to relay it. Something about how the testing is difficult and non-conclusive and the best way to find out is to go through the chealting process. This is time consuming because you have to find the right chealting agent. Because of this, he does not start the process unless he highly suspects heavy metals or at the parents insistence.
I still wonder about heavy metals and if Savanna does not improve we will probably go this route and start a chealting process.
I don't know what other doctors would say or hair analysis, etc. since Dr. B is the only one I've talked to about this.

yes and many of them are thru the roof....especially antimony and aluminum. his docs suspect that he is holdong mercury and others and not excreting them, if that is the case bc labs show no trace of mercury and the NT person labs would show them as being excreted.

we wanted to chelate with the hard stuff...but were advised by several dan docs and a naturopath not to do so until his yeast was under control. that was almost 4yrs ago and we still have yeast issues despite out best efforts.
so we do natural chelators like vit E and epsom salt. i know many who are doing yakso protocols and hard chelating...their kids labs are finally showing toxic dumping and they are improving after 6months or longer with chelating (not to mention the chelating regression as its called).
we are waiting to see dr buckley (bradstreets partner) but after hearig her at our local taca meeting this month...i know i'll have to set her straigt on the mito issue. she said a mito dx is not worth looking into b/c kids with mito issues are on their death beds. my son has lots of chronic health issues but he is not on his death bed, and has confirmed mito complex 1 disorder by dr shoffner, same doc from the hannah poling vaccine case.
