  • femoral disrotation osteotomy

Apologies in advance that I am short on time tonight and am posting just this short note without much context . . . but for the first time ever our orthopedist said, during a marathon PT/x-ray/clinic/gait lab appointment yesterday, that Evan is headed for a femoral disrotation osteotomy within the next 12-18 months. Whoa. Lots of research to do, and a long phone consult (or several!) with the ortho before we do anything, but in the meantime . . . anyone been through this? NancyR, is this what Sweet Girl had? Input welcome!

I will explain more as I learn more; the appointment was more disjointed than usual, and I am truly uncertain what prompted the doc to come out of the blue (from my perspective) with this when we had previously been talking about hamstring lengthening only. Luckily this doc will be happy to spend the time I need to understand.

    Thanks, all!

Oooh, sorry to see you were posting at 5:00 a.m.! Sorry for my stress. Next weekend we will be getting on the road for vacation (yay!) but we will connect some time soon . . . no rush. Just beginning my research and creating a list of questions for the doc. Thanks!

Happy to help!! Have a wonderful time!! I will have Fridays off, may be a little easier to catch up then?? XO!!

(Dang hormones on my part, and crazy job stress = waking up at ridiculous hours!! I keep my ipad by my side, so I don't get up and start to wander! Cute kid snuggling in mom's bed on one side, and cat snuggled by the other = went back to sleep afterward, lol)
