Is anyone out there still Mystery Shopping?

I remember there were a bunch of people who signed up a few years ago. I just re-upped and I'm doing my second shop right now. It's kind of fun, but it *really* doesn't pay well, LOL. Today I got an email about one for a casino, though - it included overnight accomodations, food, tips - and a $150 stipend. Now *that* is not bad!

My last one I had to complete a purchase - which they would reimburse up to $5. The shop itself only paid $12. So I went to the mall, bought a $30 dress and got paid $17... not bad for a $13 dress (which I love) - but you aren't going to make a living at it, LOL!

They wanted me to pay to start and I learned the hard way a long time ago never to do that again.

I would love to -- always thought it would be so much fun! BUT, how do you go about finding a reputable company? I've looked into it but don't know really who to trust or how to get into a situation like you're in where you know you'll be doing real things & getting paid real money. How'd you do it? What are your recommendations?
