  • What do you use to clean laminate floors?

You know, the Pergo floors ( we have that but not the pergo brand ). Can I just use Mr. Clean or anything like that on it?

    Well,

We just had someone here this morning to give us a quote on putting some in. He talked to us about caring for them and said the following:

Clean with a swiffer every 2-3 days.

Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild vinegar and water solution when needed.

If you need to mop, use an amonia and water mixture and wring out the mop very very well.

Use acetone when necessary to get hard to remove stain off.

This is all for the quickstep brand of floors.

      We have Quickstep.....m

We got the Quickstep floor system. It's just like a swiffle but bigger and it comes with a cleaner and cloths. Works pretty good and I use it once a week to clean the floors. I sweep with a regular broom every single day! The cost was $40 and I think it is well worth the money. The supplies will last about 2 years and then I will need new cloths and cleaner, $15. I was told to only use that type of product and I could use windex for spots. If you read the Quickstep brochure it will scare you off. Absolutely no durt should touch the floor, yeah right.

Def amonia and water.. I have wilsonart lam and...

called to ask I also use an amonia based window cleaner for spot cleaning but you could just make your own and put it in a spray bottle. I have 3 dogs so our floors get dirty fast. I mop and dry once a week.. I find the best way to avoid streaks is to towel dry.. it is a pain but it seems to be the only thing that works.. I do love my laminate.. with 3 kids, and three dogs the only damage I have in 7 years is from when dh dropped a hammer from the top of a ladder.. just a minor ding and wood puddy fixed it.. I could replace the piece but nah!!
