  • Need theme ideas for miniature golf holes ++

DH and I belong to an organization that has an indoor miniature golf "tournament" every year (it's more of an excuse to socialize and have a few drinks, lol).

The other day we were talking about having the same kind of function at our house and making it an annual event. For example, one of the "holes" might be hitting a nylon-covered foam ball off of our deck into a designated "hole" (life preserver ring?) in the water below. The theme of that hole could be something nautical.

Another hole might have a Jimmy Buffett/Margaritaville theme, with tequila shots. We are on one acre so we have some room to play with outside; I'm thinking one of the holes could be along the 2nd floor balcony that runs along the back of the house.

Anyone have any great ideas for themes of the other holes? We are in the brainstorming stage right now; I think this could be a great family to-do project this summer!

    TIA
    Brenda

    That sounds like fun!

No ideas for you right now (my brain is fried from work) but I'll have to think about it. Sounds really interesting (and fun)!

      Brenda....

I think this sounds like fun...but I've been trying and trying to come up with ideas for you. Not much luck...

      A few ideas:

Hit ball through an old tire and make it some kind of race car theme or car theme.

Use a plunger to hit a ball into an old toilet?

Use a cattle prod to hit a ball into a cowboy boot?

How about dropping a ball off your balcony into something?

        This does sound like fun...

I may have to steal your idea--my family would love this! Joy had some good ideas; I especially like the race car theme.

One more: You could have a beach theme hitting the ball into a sand pail with a plastic shovel (you could make a faux-sandcastle with a tunnel for the ball to go through).

I don't know if you watch (he he), but there was an episode of Curious George like this--he invented a mini golf course with all different obstacles, balls and clubs. Your idea made me think of it... we're big CG fans here!

Let us know how it turns out! (And we'll want to see pics!)

Draw a chalk path on the driveway and/or use bricks as sides

so they have to play a hole before they can even get in the house (and they score their first bev, based on which container they sink the ball in...?).

This does sound really fun....(kids mentd)

MY kids set up a mini golf course in the yard, the best ones used big plastic dinosaurs as obtacles. Check out kids toys for inspiration.
