  • Purple Easter eggs - how to do it and make them look good?

I have been frustrated with my purple Easter eggs ever since I started coloring these with my dd's. They always look awful. The Paas tablets are a mixture of red and blue dyes, so the color doesn't deposit evenly. The eggs look mottled. I've tried it with the "just water" tablets and the vinegar tablets. I've tried it myself with blue and red food colorings. I still didn't like them. They looked kinda dirty.

So - how do you do purple Easter eggs and get a nice even color that looks bright, not muddy?

    TIA,

    Traci

You can use natural dyes...this link suggests grape juice of all things.
