Tropican Resort in Atlantic City???

Anyone have any experience with this?

Our anniversary is Columbus Day weekend. In laws have agree to have the kids over night. Problem is our original plan to stay in a hotel near by with a comedy club is booked.

I found this deal on travel zoo. Tropicana room and 2 show tickets for Footloose for $59. Money is really tight, but in laws rarely agree to take the kids so I would love to go for it.

Is this a decent place to stay? it got mixed reviews.

If you all think its decent, then we just have to convince MIL that she can handle our boys when we are 90 minutes away.

DH and I did that. We ate at Cuba Libre and walked around. Its a little run down but you can make it fun!!!!! I would do it agin.

If there is any way for you to find a deal at the Borgota (I think that's the spelling...) then by all means, go there. I don't know anything about the Tropican but the Borgota was HEAVEN. My mom and I went there for a girls weekend a few years ago and had a blast. The hotel is gorgeous. Have fun!!

We went there for our anniversary

The hotel was "okay." It wasn't fabulous, but we also got a deal with show tix and it was a good deal, closeby, fun to get away and an okay place.

I would definintely go back there if I got a deal like this.

We ate at Carmines. A lot of food for just the two of us, but wanted to try it.
