  • Question for you Zicam Users

As an asthmatic I'm very vulnerable to getting bad colds, and I tried Zicam a while back when I was getting a cold, but I couldn't stick with it because the taste was so incredibly bad to me - I ended up gagging every time I put one of the lozenges in my mouth. Are there any other options? I think I've seen a Zicam nose spray? Has anyone tried that, and does it work too? Thanks!

I use the nasal spray. It causes a good bit

of drainage that sort of stings the throat. But I've had fantastic luck with it stopping me from getting colds--it is worth it to me.

I use the Zicam nasal swabs.

I've never tried the lozenges. I find the nasal swabs easy to use and they don't have side effects. My kids don't mind them either, but DH hated it and refuses to try it again.

Thank you thank you! I am going to look into both the spray and the swabs. I've just finished my second severe cold in less than a month, and it's getting really old!

          We use the swabs...

I noticed that they recently came out with new packaging, too...

My mom, who is a bit immune suppressed as a cancer survivor, really swears by the Zicam... she was feeling bad on Friday morning, ran out to Rite Aid. I asked her how she felt last night and she is all better... I don't know how or why, but the stuff works.

          Feel better!

I can't stand the taste of the lozenges. I too wonder about the swabs or the spray.

            I couldn't get past the 2nd lozenge.

              DH is a Zicam fan

DH uses the spray (it's a gel spray, I think). He swears by it. I don't like it because it makes my nose sting and I question its efficacy!
