  • My Craigslist Experience...

I am just in shock! I had to share my recent Craigslist (Denver) experiences.

About 2 months ago, I listed my car (a Subaru Outback) and the next day a girl bought it for full price.

Last night at midnight, I finalized my ad for selling a Little Tikes Play yard with two slides for $60 and at 12:15 am someone left a message. I got another call at 6:30 am and have been answering calls ever since! The guy that called last night is going to buy it.

I'm just in shock at how quickly these sales have happened!! I'm selling a few more things on there so that I can buy a new patio set (I'm selling my old one hopefully). Its crazy! I LOVE it!!

So the moral fo the story is that if you want to sell something quick and your area has craigslist - do it!!

Yep, I sold a friddge, dishwasher, range, and kitchen cabinets far more easily and for more money than I expected to get for them. The guys who bought the cabinets and dishwasher have even become friends. How odd is that?

    Glad you had good experiences!

I've been begging DH to put a couple things on there

      lately...

We're debating between craigslist and free cycle on some items

I have a craft table/chair/light set i want to craigslist and get it out of the storageroom!

        Congrats!!!

I have had really good luck recently with Craigslist. One item didn't initially sell, but I relisted the following week and sold it quickly. I definitely prefer Craigslist over Ebay for non-clothing items.

          Greeat for buying, too ...

We just bought a Viking stove for our new kitchen on craigslist for a fraction of what a new one would cost. You kind of need to "get to know" the seller first but I'm very confident that this guy is very above board. Our goal is to get a premium kitchen for a less than premium price, and this is definitely helping!

my experience, too! It's awesome. I pre-listed 5 things for our yard sale and every one of them had a full price buyer who came by the yard sale and picked them up - it was great. Made $200 without blinking an eye...

              Love Craigslist too

We have found great renters for rental properties we own using CraigsList. We've had much much better response than from the newspaper ads and CraigsList is free and you can make your ad virtually as long as you like.

I just sold some baby stuff on CL and I also(m)

found my cleaning company on CL.

I've had about 90% good luck with both buying and selling. THe 10% are just flakes. THat's the biggest thing about CL, there are a lot of flakes, but also a lot of people who use the boards to complain about the flakes.

And my other peeve is that there a lots of people trying to sell used things for the price of new or even more expensive than new. That irritates me...you can shop for things on line with free shipping and people still expect you to think the price they list is a bargain.

IT's a great thing though, when you are looking for something local and specific.

Okay, JV......since I sold a Viking stove, on craigslist I need to know if the guy you bought it from was named Randy or Alex. These were two of our potential buyers who I thought were re-sellers even thought they wouldn't admit it!

some kids' stuff can back fire on you too... I've found I'll get tons of emails and calls, but then no one will show up. So, don't promise it to the first person, because if they never show, then you're emailing back to others asking if they are still interested. Sometimes setting up a time for someone to come by just to get some thing for $20 can be more of a head ache than it is worth.
