Definitely depends on what type of snow you have. Growing up in NJ I loved our old toboggan that had belonged to my grandparents and my Flexible Flyer. Now that I live in SC we rarely see snow and it's mostly a couple of inches at most of ice/snow so nothing with runners works. After we had several inches of snow two years ago and we were sledding on pieces of cardboard I bought my DSs plastic saucers last Christmas. They have't had a chance to use them yet. In the Fall we saw kids using them on a big grassy hill in our town and I told my DSs if it doesn't snow this winter they can use them for that (I'm thinking it might crack them) and it looks like they will be holding me to that promise.

But, I marked inner tube because I think it would be the most exciting -- down a long, snow covered hill with no trees.

You don't have my response: NONE.

When I was a child, I would always get a sore throat before it snowed. Additionally, I would cough so hard that I could hardly catch my breath. Even serious narcotic cough medicine could not stop the cough.

I associate nothing good with snow. I don't want to be in it. I don't sky, skate, or sled. Unfortunately, I do sometimes slide.

My children love to sled. Even though I no longer have these symptoms, I still don't like the white stuff. It's DH's responsibility to get cold and wet.

      If you're wondering why I live in Ohio...I won't once we're retired.

        you brought back wonderful memories!

        Thanks for bringing this up.

At the risk of possibly getting in trouble for responding from the office, I'm going to elect the cafeteria tray. I had some great memories from my college years, borrowing trays from the cafeteria to go sledding down some of the fabulous hills on campus. I felt like the tomboy that I never was, and we always returned the tray after the winter.

I love the snow this winter, and it makes my kids very happy. (I wish I could write more, but Big Brother is watching me.)

        Regards to everyone.

Flexible flyer I guess is what we have. They are long and you sit in them and they have a cord to pull someone if you wanted to. We havent had a good enough snow yet to be able to sled!

I'm so with you--my favorite kind of sled is the kind where I don't have to go! I have reynaud's and it ends up being miserable for me inside of 10 minutes.
