First of all, I'm sorry you are all going through the threat of another hurricane. I hope it doesn't regain strength, and you and your families are all spared!
That being said, believe it or not, my whole family (plus nanny & parents) are supposed to be going to Club Med Sandpiper in Port Saint Lucie on Saturday, for a week. Assuming Ernesto remains a tropical storm, everything SHOULD blow over by Saturday. My question is what is the weather typically like AFTER a hurricane? The forecast says scattered showers just about every day, but what does that mean? In Aruba and Puerto Rico, where we've been several times, it rained almost everyday (when we went), but only for about 20 minutes. Then it was nice. Is it like that in FL, or do you think it will be constant rain?
If the hurricane is bad (g-d forbid), and Club Med closes, we get our money back for the land portion (in the form of a Club Med credit). If we want to cancel, we have to do it with 48 hours notice, and we get 90% back (we bought the trip insurance) in the form of a Club Med credit. I think we'd have to pay "change" fees for our airline tickets, though.
Any advice, words or wisdom, etc? I really don't know WHAT to do!
Thanks,
Julie
