  • Weekly check in

How is everyone doing? Here the weather is better (more sun and warmer, days getting longer) and I am still zipping along thanks to my rhodiola rosea extract. Wednesday will be two weeks on half the recommended dosage and it makes me feel like my normal self. I am so glad I found it! I am definitely sticking with it until April and will take it again next October. Hopefully next winter I won't have the Jekyll/Hyde thing going on.

Fridays weigh-in had me down about 1-1/2 lbs from the week before. Have been steady as always with the workouts, squeezing in any opportunity for long walks or bike rides on the in between days.

My weight is starting to creep down again. Yesterday as I was about to jump in the shower, I caught sight of myself in the mirror. I had to stop and look at my arms. I thought that they looked different, but I wasn't sure. DH confirms that my arms are looking more toned. I am attributing it to swimming twice a week with my water weights.

Doing well here... just home from my weekly trip to the grocery store, meals planned.

I don't weigh in again until Friday morning, but I hope to see another big drop. After that I know it will slow down, I want to stick it out for the long haul!

Hoping the snow around here melts so I can get out for walks, though with DH working out of town and me working 3 days a week, my time to get out is limited. :-(

        so-so.

My rhodiola rosea came in the mail and I took the first one today. I have high hopes.

I'm not really sticking to a great diet. This is birthday season for the entire family. We call February "cake month."

February is birthday month here. DH's very elderly Nana says, "May is a busy month."

It took 3 days for me to feel it, this was at the rec'd dosage. By Day 4 I felt really wired but it was too much so I cut back. Curious to see how you are doing when Wed-Thur rolls around!

Happy to report I am 8 days off sugar!!!

I've been exercising every day and now that I have the sugar out of my system I am getting back on a strict food plan.

I feel confident that I will reach my goals!

Glad to have all of you here to check in with!

                LOL!

I was just realizing today that there are an awful lot of birthdays this time of year. It seems like I have a niece or nephew in every direction who has a birthday within a 2 week time frame.

I ran over 50 miles in January

Compared to approx. 3 miles in december.

I took a needed break the first week of Feb, and the ice/snow/sleet storm helped me not feel guilty about it. I've been taking ibuprofen and icing my ankles at night, but I was determined to stick to my January work out plan, and so I did.

I've put in 13 miles so far in Feb.

Great work! But try not to overdo and strain your ankles and joints! Could you perhaps alternate with speed walking in between runs? Or nordic walking - I find the poles really help give you a total workout and it is not hard using alternating terrain to get the heart rate up almost to the jogging level. Also much easier on the joints.

I need to do the elliptical sometimes, but I keep thinking my joints should be getting accustomed to the new routine sometime soon. I only run 3 times a week, but I probably pushed it to 5 miles sooner than my joints were ready. Your cardio system improves faster than your musculoskeletal system.

Meeting with personal trainer tonight for my "free" session (although my 17 yo dd goes to her twice a week!). Anyway, I'm good on cardio and go several times a week. I logged in 20 miles since thursday, and hope to get to 50 very soon (so I can go get my massage). I will ask her to help me develop a strength workout for efficiency high effectiveness and we'll take it from there.

I braved up to stepping on the scale today. Down 3 pounds for January. Whew.

                            I am doing fairly well

But had a rough Superbowl Sunday. I was down 9 lbs in January and now another 2 in February.

I'm upping my exercise this month. Last night I walked for 45 minutes in the freezing cold. I hate the treadmill that much.
