      i'd be tempted, but... (m)

i have these wonderful gortex boots that are warm and comfy and can take me thru the slush, ice and snow of toronto winters... plus work well with the snowshoes dh bought me last year... so not keen on giving them up...

plus, i have a couple nice pairs of fall boots that i wear each fall and each fall end up with agonizing knee pains - despite using proper insoles... one week in my gortex boots and my knees are just fine again... not willing to risk that aspect either...

LOVE my Uggs. love, love, love, love, love them.

I don't care if they are ugly ... they are so warm and so comfortable. I wear a pair every day of the week from September to April.

I've gotten a pair for Christmas for the past four years. I now have the tall ones in brown, black and camel color and then I also have the camel color in the short, ankle length ones (these were the first pair I ever owned - the pretty much are shot now and I just use them for really snowy/crappy weather days when I'm shoveling or running out for something).

For Christmas - I'm even getting Ugg slippers!

My dd is only 6 and is on her second pair. I got them at Nordstroms for $80 -which I know is a lot of money to spend on shoes - but she loves them too and wears them every day. By the end of the season they are shot but I figure if she's wearing them every day from September to April, then I'm getting off cheap for $80, when I'm not buying her tennis shoes and dress shoes and winter boots.

I have 4 pairs of Uggs - all different. They are the real Uggs. I could never be happy with an imitation!

That said, my 3 girls all have Bear Paws, which are about 1/3 the cost.

We live in MN, where Uggs/Bear Paws aren't just 'fashionable' - they are functional.

            I love my Uggs.
